Lillian Too’s Predictions for 2007

Frankly, I’ve never been one to take much notice of Feng Shui or superstitions (especially if it’s been written by Lillian Too), but I have to admit that I do like to hear a good prediction. According to Lillian Too, business will be good for the dragons in the Year of the Golden Pig, which is the coming Chinese lunar year.

Just a little background on the subject based on what little I know…

Just like the western zodiac that goes by month, the Chinese zodiac consists of 12 animals based upon the year that one is born in (dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog, pig, rat, ox, tiger, and rabbit). The zodiac cycle runs over a period of twelve years, one for each animal. This year was the year of the dog. Next year will be the year of the pig. Why golden? To be honest, I’m not very sure. All I know is that it’s supposed to be a really good year – better than a regular “pig” year.

Even though I’ve often had a good laugh at the hubby’s expense whenever he makes a comment about such matters, in this part of the world, the relationship between Feng Shui and business is symbiotic. The hubby once told me he was never a believer as an employee. He only became one after he started working on his own business. Whether you want to believe it or not, he says, it never hurts to have a little fortune on your side.

In fact, look a little further out and you’ll notice Feng Shui being implemented outside of the usual Asian environment (as long as you know what to look for). I’ve also noticed that a number of MNCs have adopted Feng Shui practices in their offices. Even my former places of employment have had Feng Shui masters advise on office setup and furniture placements.

Having spoken to friends who have had encounters with Feng Shui masters and claimed to have had their lives accurately depicted by such masters, perhaps there may be something to this practice. However, never having had a Feng Shui master make any predictions on me, I’m afraid I shall still remain a skeptic. On the other hand, if Lillian Too’s prediction about business going well for dragons this year proves to be undeniably fantastic, perhaps I may be willing to take a closer look upon the subject.
